Pedal to the Metal: Mobile Workshop engages individuals and communities in the metalcasting process, allowing them to make small scale or collaborative cast metal sculptures on the spot.
Pedal to the Metal : Mobile Workshop is an interactive tool designed for public or private events. With the assistance of professional staff participants can expect to make their own small scale sculptures, jewelry, and creative works using fire arts processes. Fire arts are artforms that use heat, spark, or flame. Creations can be taken home just minutes after being made or customized workshops can create collaborative community pieces to be enjoyed by all into the future. Working in metal, glass enamel, encaustic wax, and more, day or night, indoor or outdoor, and even without access to electricity, this experience can truly be created nearly anywhere.
Projects have ranged from cast bronze pendants, to glass enamelled copper forms, cast pewter mini-sculptures, encaustic paintings, and glass enamel camping mugs. Aluminum or bronze tiles to be set into cement for permanent appreciation, a private workshop can be used to create sterling silver jewelry. We can even bring a mold with your message on it to live cast pieces for your guests to take away. Engagement events can be walk-up, or pre-registered. With both recommended and customizable options the experience can be tailored to fit your event.
